About Jimmy

I attended my first race as a fan at the age of six weeks old at Palm Beach Fairgrounds Speedway in West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1974, my father became a crew chief for Bob Kirk, racing at Palm Beach and Hialeah Speedways on Friday and Saturday nights respectively. Throughout the 1970s and '80s, we raced at nearly every asphalt track in the state of Florida at some point. In the 1990s, I joined the Navy, and was away from Florida racing for the decade. However, I did attend quite a few weekly shows at Hampton, VA's Langley Speedway, and Capron, VA's Southampton Speedway. After returning to Florida in 1999, I only attended a few shows at Orlando SpeedWorld, along with a few of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing and the Florida Governor's Cup races at New Smyrna Speedway. After moving to Ohio in 2011, the first race track I attended was Lake County (now Painesville) Speedway. In 2013, I met Colleen Norris through some radio-controlled racing in Ravenna, OH, and after a friendship of three years. she agreed to allow me to pilot her first race car in 2016 at Barberton Speedway. In 2017, I made a few more starts in Colleen's car, collecting my first two career wins late in the year (two heat race wins - one at Barberton and one at Painesville). We had some mechanical issues in 2018, and ended up selling both cars.
I ended purchasing my own car in 2020, but due to COVID, we did not get back on the race track until 2022, joining Stray Dog Racing and teaming with some friends. We're building a brand-new car for 2023.
